Mary
Worden Chrisman passed away in Andover, OH on May 24, 2011. She will join her
Parents, brother Marvin J. Worden, and nephew Lane M. Worden at the Saratoga
Town Cemetery in Saratoga, WY on September 3, 2011.
Born Mary
Marie Worden in Osceola, IA, she was the third child of Melvin C. Worden, and
Fern E. (Barr) Worden. In 1950 they moved to a farm near Loveland. She
graduated from Loveland High School in 1964. She loved music, art, writing, and
history, and was a member of the Loveland High School Band and choir, and the
University of Colorado Marching Band. She married Robert S Goolsby in 1965 with
whom she had 4 children. Mary and Robert Goolsby divorced in 1977. Mary moved
briefly to Saratoga, WY and then back to Aurora, CO, where she worked as a
substitute teacher for Aurora Public Schools as well as earned her Bachelor's
Degree in Computer Programming from Colorado Women's College in 1979. Mary then
married FTBC Robert Chrisman, USN, stationed in Virginia Beach, VA and later in
Charleston, SC and New London, CN. In 1981, Mary, gave birth to Zachary
Chrisman. Mary Worden Chrisman divorced Robert Chrisman in 1988 and moved back
to Colorado where she taught at schools primarily in Eastern CO. Mary also
taught in Lake Arthur, NM and remained there until 1994, she relocated to the
Farmington area and became a Disability Rights Advocate. Her health forced her
to retire and relocate in 2006, to Andover, OH, where she lived until her death
at age 64.
Mary is
survived by her children--Michael D.Goolsby of
Livermore, California; Amanda M. Goolsby of Lafayette, CA; Matthew R. Goolsby
of Aurora, CO; Marvin C. Goolsby of Oakland, CO and Zachary Chrisman of Las
Cruces, NM--and one grandson, Samuel Clifton of Lafayette, CA. Her siblings--
Merle E. Worden of Burlington, CO and Melody A. (Worden) Busch of Severance, CO
